Blessed to live in the Sierra Nevada mountains, Mark and Christine are shepherds to a flock of California Red and Romney sheep. Each spring they allow us to gather their fiber; the tactile experience of working with wool feels so right...so basic...so primitive...like the feeling each spring we get to plant a garden. Nature is so unbelievably grand; inspiration comes from everywhere. Besides the wool, Christine likes to create in all mediums: sewing, knitting, crocheting-any fiber is fair game! Mark has drawn and painted since he was a wee little lad. Helen Cleary took Mark on drawing expeditions to Mariposa Creek when he was a little boy and his great-grandma Viola Johnsons' landscapes were a source of inspiration. |
